MBI Lapendary Panels
Lapendary Panels are large, unique acoustical banners hung in a loose catenary fashion or installed flush to the roof deck for a flat appearance. Arenas and other sports facilities require a sound environment conducive to both athletic events and musical performances. Lapendary Panels reduce reverberation time and sound intensity levels in challenging acoustical environments, resulting in improved quality of sound systems and allowing a venue to become an acoustically optimal facility.

Design Process
SFA’s unique understanding of large arena or stadium architectural and engineering needs allows us to create a successful acoustics design. We have extensive experience working hand-in-hand with project architects and engineers to develop an installation design that best leverages the product’s acoustical properties.
Our expert designs are based on the established amount of acoustics materials needed to achieve results, as determined by project engineers. Next, depending on the existing ceiling installations, roof structural systems, or sprinkler systems, we determine how to hang the Lapendary Panels — either with a large catenary (loose) or close to the roof deck using an extensive cabling system.
Each project’s design is tailored to the venue’s specific needs.
Installation
SFA installs Lapendary Panels exclusively by means of rope access. This technique is highly specialized and performed only by trained and certified technicians. A unique and dangerous job, this type of vertical access requires experience and expertise. Our partners in installation have unparalleled knowledge of the rigging industry, and we leverage their proven track record of implementing custom installations for our arena acoustics.
Safety is the top priority for SFA and its installers. All rigging technicians adhere to strict IRATA standards and are extensively trained in rope access.
